So that time of year has come round again when we find out who has been recognised in the prestigious Transform Awards. The Transform Awards are the world's premier awards for brand transformation work - strategy, language and design.
We have been lucky enough to pick up a few of these awards over the years and 2023 has turned out to be no different, with us winning Silver in the "Best use of a visual property" category and then Gold in the "Best rebrand of a digital property" category. This is StartsWithA's first Gold in the awards so we are pretty chuffed to say the least.
Here's a recap of the winning projects.
GOLD - ARDI by Optrix & StartsWithA
This is our first ever gold in The Transform Awards and it couldn't be for a better client. We have been working with Optrix since early 2022, who are the team behind a stunning piece of Industry 4.0 data visualisation software called "ARDI".
During our discovery phase, it became clear quickly that ARDI is an extremely powerful piece of technology, however, the team faced an all too common problem: the complexity of their offering was making it difficult to communicate the value they provide in a clear and concise way.
It took us over two hours sitting with the lead developer during an in depth product demonstration for us to truly "get" how it works and why this is so special. Unfortunately in this fast paced world we live in, attention spans are short and you don't have time for for a two hour "1 on 1 session" with all your potential customers so we needed to distill this down into a short, simple and easy to understand message of value.
We took the organisation through a program of research & strategy to understand what aspects of ARDI’s offering were most valuable to their key audiences, then we translated this into an overhaul of all the brand's assets and marketing collateral. The outcome was multiple new brand assets that explain how ARDI works in visual and verbal ways that work together in unison to convey how the brand provides value for their target audience.

SILVER - Be Group & StartsWithA
Our second award of the night was for our work with Be Group on their recent rebrand in 2022. Be Group is a specialist recruiter that finds brilliant people meaningful employment within the Health and Social Care sectors.
With a rising tide of competitors entering what used to be a niche sector, Be recognised that their brand image was not keeping pace. Their dated positioning, design and language no longer reflected who they are or aspired to become. We took the organisation through our unique Brand Compass positioning program to develop a new brand architecture, refined positioning, authentic brand voice and suite of refreshed assets that were then rolled out across all key marketing collateral. A key creative highlight was the design of a unique monogram logo that combined "b" and "e", creating an easily recognisable and memorable branded asset.
This straightforward yet impactful design idea fell into place effortlessly - sometimes the best ideas are sitting in front of you all along. The Be monogram turned out to be a blend of iconic design and elegant simplicity, emerging as the signature representation for the organisation across all platforms and touch points.

This was a truly collaborative project that had full involvement with the team. We wouldn't have been able to come to such a strong final brand delivery if it wasn't for the trust and confidence Be Group put in us during the project. We were only beaten to the gold place by Canva, yes the 40 billion dollar unicorn business, Canva. I'll take that.
